Gubi has reissued Carlo Nason's Lotus lamp, a sculptural Murano glass design originally created in 1969. The late Venetian designer was known for exploring the artistic and technical possibilities of glass, with the Lotus reflecting his interest in layered compositions.
The lamp features four individually mouth-blown glass shades, precisely assembled around a compact steel structure that conceals the light source. Made using pulegoso glass, the shades contain thousands of tiny bubbles and natural variations, ensuring that each piece is unique.
Developed with Nason and his son Alberto, the reissue celebrates the designer's independent approach to lighting. Gubi says the Lotus remains relevant today through its combination of craftsmanship, functionality and sculptural form, while introducing Nason's work to a new generation.
